Hunger has a Big Impact on Children
It is important for children in school to have access to the proper food. Children who don't have access to this food can experience health problems. Children who struggle with hunger are likely to be sick more often. They are also likely to experience more headaches, stomachaches, and colds. It all begins with a child not being fed properly.
Kids who do not get the food they need are not going to be as successful in school as kids who do. Proper foods would be healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. All foods that have the nutrients they need as a younger child. Children who are not fed properly by the age of three grow up to be slower learners. It impairs their ability to concentrate and perform well in school.
Not being fed properly as a young child can affect the child emotionally later in life as well. They tend to have significantly higher levels of behavioral and emotional problems. They tend to be more aggressive and anxious. Because of these problems, they have a harder time getting along with other kids. These emotional and social problems follow them throughout life.
There are many reasons to why it is important to be sure kids are getting the proper food they need. If they don't it can lead to many problems. These health, academic, and emotional problems follow them as they grow up. It all starts at a young age. Together we need to help young children get the food they need.
